I...You can use any paper you have in your stash. I'm sure most of us have enough in our stash not to purchase a kit. I used the kit because I didn't have to think about it. No planning, just write and shove it in. In 2010 I made my own kit using my stash. I used WRMK page protectors and that worked well enough but I typed my journaling and found that a really difficult way of staying up to date.
